The MGC pool, tennis courts, and greenspace are for all active and in good standing members and their guests. Members and guests are expected to follow these rules, act responsibly, and use good judgment when using the facilities. The MGC and Board of Directors assume no responsibility or liability for any accident or injury of any person or damage or loss of personal property on any MGC property. The MGC Board of Directors reserves the right to add, delete, or modify these rules when necessary.
PARENTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ASSURING THEIR CHILDREN UNDERSTAND AND COMPLY WITH THESE RULES.
Pool:
SWIM AT YOUR OWN RISK: Hold Harmless must be signed and agreed to during membership application to receive an access code.
Guest Policy - 5 MILE RULE:
You may bring a guest twice (2) during the pool season if they live within 5 miles of the pool. We would then ask that guest to join as a member.
Out of the 5 mile radius - You are welcome to bring a guest five times per season. (The guest can be a single family—two adults and four children, or up to 6 people at a time)
**Our guest policy excludes an organized party** Contact for party reservations.
Guest policy is implemented due to many visitors, and we must follow the bather count rules.
Access: Access code(s) are not to be shared. Providing access codes to non-members will result in the suspension of membership privileges. Keep the gate closed at all times. Do not prop the door for others to enter freely. The access code is sent during the first open weekend of the season.
Lifeguards: Certified lifeguards will be on duty at designated times when the pool is open. Parents are responsible for monitoring their children when they are at the pool. The lifeguard is not a babysitter. When present, Lifeguards are in complete charge of bathers in and around the pool and may impose additional rules as needed. When lifeguards are absent, Meadowgrove Club officers/board members may interpret the rules.
Break Times: Lifeguards will call a ten (10) minute break each hour. Adults are encouraged to watch their children carefully as no guard will be on duty. During Adult Swim/safety break, only those 18 and older are allowed in the pool.
Diving: Diving is only allowed in the deep end of the pool. (12 feet area)
Age Limits: MGC active members 14 years of age and up are permitted to use the pool, an adult unaccompanied, when a lifeguard is not present. Kids below 14 years of age are not permitted to be at the pool without adult supervision.
Attire: Proper swimming attire must be worn at all times. Cutoffs or tennis shoes are not allowed in the pool. Children under three must wear snug-fitting undergarments. Infants and toddlers who are not toilet trained must use swim diapers.
Swim equipment: Fins, goggles, masks, snorkels, tubes, rafts, and floats will only be allowed at the discretion of the lifeguard on duty. This may vary depending on the type of equipment and number of people using the pool.
Shed: Shall not be used for members' personal items.
General Roughhousing: It is not allowed in the pool or deck areas, such as running, diving in the shallow areas, pushing or jumping on others, dunking, or holding someone underwater.
The pool safety rope is off limits to sitting, jumping, or holding, and must be left in place (County Rule).
Members and guests may be expelled for inappropriate conduct.
Radios: Radios must be kept at a respectful volume, considering surrounding homeowners and other members.
Furniture: Use pool deck furniture appropriately. No chair forts, or table rolling. Return chairs and tables back to their original location. Lower umbrellas upon leaving to prevent damage by wind.
Food: Snacks, food, and beverages are prohibited IN the pool or bathrooms.
Health and safety
Accidents: Pool related injuries will be immediately reported to the Pool Director who will notify the MGC Board of Directors.
Cleanliness: Please assist in keeping the area clean and free of debris including plastic bottles, cans and paper products. Trash bags or liners must be used for trash and placed in trash cans. Clean up and throw away all your trash and other items in designated trash cans. Clean up after yourself and your guests.
Thunder: In the event of thunder or lightning, all bathers must exit the pool. Only after a period of 20 minutes without thunder and lightning may bathers re-enter the pool.
Health: Persons with colds, coughs, skin ailments, infections or other maladies, which may cause concerns for other swimmers’ health, should refrain from using the pool.
MGC reserves the right to ask individuals who present a clear public health concern to leave the pool area.
Safety: Glass, metal, riding-type toys, wheeled scooters, and skateboards are not allowed within the fenced pool area. Bicycles must be placed in the bike rack.
Smoking/Vaping: For the health and safety of our members and their children, smoking/vaping is prohibited by anyone at any time on MGC grounds. This includes the whole fenced area. Cameras are in all corners.
Pets: Pets are not allowed within the fenced pool area.
Clubhouse, restroom and parking:
Clubhouse: Minors cannot use Clubhouse as a hang-out place without an adult present. No wheeled vehicles of any kind are permitted inside the clubhouse. This includes, but is not limited to, roller blades, skates, bicycles, skateboards, scooters, children’s rides on toys.
Restrooms: Children must use the restrooms provided. This is a mandatory County Health Rule, and no exceptions will be tolerated. To avoid plumbing problems, children under the age of 5 must be escorted to the restrooms by a parent.
DO NOT LEAVE DIRTY DIAPERS IN THE BATHROOM TRASH CANS.
Non-potty-trained children must wear a swim diaper. If a fecal accident occurs, the club must be notified at , after which the pool must be closed for treatment.
Parking: Parking is not permitted by the clubhouse at any time unless:
● You have a valid handicapped parking permit
● You are a contractor or member that has equipment or delivery (Not children as
delivery)
● You are a lifeguard, coach, or county referee reporting for your official shift
● You have a broken or sprained leg
Pool Damage: Damage to pool facilities or property will be charged to the responsible MGC Member.
Telephone: The pool phone may be used only for emergencies.
Personal Property: MGC will not be responsible for the loss or damage of personal property. Items left over thirty (30) days will be discarded or donated.
